Scott -
Chief Arficer
I have been working with dogs technically since we got
our first dog as adults in 2001. Taking various training
classes with him I found a lot of fun could be had even in
regular obedience classes. In 2004 I began working as a
walker for someone else; I found the job challenging and
fulfilling. Many might think that dog walking is easy,
but it isn't - it's not all fun and games... no all
anyway.
Sundog Pet Services came into existence in 2006. Around that time the people that I had been working for were full force into their boarding/daycare facility and they gave me the clients that I was working with already. I also began my Dog Training career at around that time too, with Puppy People.
I have helped raise many puppies in close conjunction with their parents both as a dog walker providing Puppy Visits and as a Trainer.
I have a background in Science, Construction/Renovation and in Emergency Medical Services.
Fezzik - C. E. Arf
Sundog is operated by Fezzik, who was born around 1999, is an American Eskimo/Corgi mix. Fezzik's favorite activities are napping, rolling in the grass, showing off his tricks, and waiting for his next meal (which he excels at).
Sóley- Chief Mascot
Sóley is our little mascot an Iceland(ic) Sheepdog; she was born in 2006.. Her favorite activities are running, chasing, and being admired, so she really enjoys agility class and the show ring. Sóley is a hapless flirt with both other dogs and people.
Tindra- Barking
Enforcement Arf-icer
Tindra is Sóley's daughter. She has taken on the mantle of warning about every dog she hears and every squirrel she sees. She enjoys going on walks with her puppy friends. She is playful, and full of energy and love.

and has acquired further knowledge and expertise in pet
nutrition and the animal-human bond. She actively works
with other Icelandic Sheepdog Owners through the national

Training Hints
Marker words or cues that let the dog know they've the
right thing are important. Understanding when a
behaviour gets them a treat or reward is important in
training. Without these training can be much more time
intensive as the dog has to guess what to do.
Nutrition
Training treats do not always have to be super
special. The more distracting the environment though,
the more interesting your rewards will have to be.
Training Tips
Every day activites should be chances for training. Even something as simple as getting a pat on the head can be a chance to ask for a sit, down or even a goofy trick! more hints.
